Interface Base ConnectorsAS-Interface Base ElementTEBB4 Element - Connect up to 4 inputs, 4 outputs and 1 dual channel safety circuit to the bus in one stack.TEBB8 Element - Connect up to 8 inputs, 8 outputs and 2 dual channel safety circuits to the bus in one stack. Each node address can handle either 4 inputs and 4 outputs, or 1 dual channel safety circuits; you only get the nodes you need to maximise available bus addresses.Extended addressing is used for I/O nodes allowing 64 nodes on a bus; double the number possible on a standard bus.Connections are made by the standard M12 5 pin QD.Mating cables are available, part no. Cable-_M-TQ1;2,5,10 and 20m lengths. Most elements are powered directly from the bus meaning only two wires are necessary to run the whole stack; the Aux power supply is required if a solenoid lock is included in the stack. The element takes one bay to house the AS-i electronics and includes the base connection element.NAMETEBB4 & TEBB8 - AS-INTERFACE BASE CONNECTORSPART NO.TEBB4TEBB8RANGEtGard - Interlock switches and control devices for automation safetyIntroduction to mGard Trapped key interlocking is a tried and tested method of mechanicallysafeguarding machines and processes.Mechanical keys eliminate most of the electrical wiring associated with other types of interlocks making them cost effective to install. The Fortress mGard is suitable for use up to SIL3 (IEC 62061) and Category 4 PLe (ISO 13849-1).Why Interlocks?Interlocks are mechanical, electrical or other types of devices, the purpose of which is to prevent the operation of hazardousmachine functions under specified conditions. Interlocking can be used to help protect personnel and equipment, enforceprocesses, and improve productivity.More information on interlock devices and their use on machinery can be found in ISO 14119, Safety of machinery - Interlockingdevices associated with guards - Principles for design and selection. Further information on trapped key interlocking can befound in the technical specification ISO/TS 19837.Why Mechanical?• Mechanical interlocking can be used to control hazardous energy sources.• A key from one isolation control device can be used in an intermediate transfer (key exchange) device to release keys formultiple guards.• Personnel keys released from access locks can be used to proactively prevent unexpected start up of machinery as per ISO14118.• Mechanical systems reduce wiring and fault masking risk.Key Operated SwitchKey removed, contacts openedKey Exchange DeviceAccess LockA key exchange device allows Key trapped, the intermediate transfer of actuator removedkeys within a system2Access Lock with Personnel KeyAccess key trapped, personnel key removed, guard (door) open
