History

R. Stahl was founded in 1876 in Stuttgart, Germany as a machine factory. In the early 20th century the company specialized in explosion-proof electrical equipment for the emerging mining and chemical industries. Ex d (flameproof enclosure) encloses the electrical component in a housing that withstands an internal explosion and prevents flame or pressure from escaping – suitable for switches and motors in the most demanding zones.
