History

KSB was founded in 1871 by Johannes Klein, Friedrich Schanzlin, and Jakob Becker in Frankenthal, Germany as Klein, Schanzlin & Becker AG. The company started with the production of steam valves and hand pumps and quickly developed centrifugal pumps for the emerging industry of the late 19th century. In the first half of the 20th century KSB grew explosively with the rise of electric pump installations for water treatment, industry, and power plants. After World War II KSB exported its products worldwide and opened manufacturing facilities in Brazil, India, China, and other emerging markets.
